Swimwear
The New Year started and I decided to start blogging more. That didn't happen. Not because I didn't want to, but mainly because of lack of time and, well, sheer laziness :-(
I was planning on doing a "feature" post called "New Year, New Underwear" featuring some of the sexy pants I've laid my eyes on during the festive season. (When I say "laid my eyes on", unfortunately I don't mean in real life). Well, that didn't happen either, as you may have noticed.
Well, guess what? That time of the year is approaching again! You know! the one that makes many single people feel miserable! The time of the year when most restaurants are full of couples staring into each others eyes! Also the time of the year when people (especially guys) who have been in a relationship for a long time tend not to remember (trust me on this!). So, guys, if you have forgotten about it (and haven't been paying attention to any of the shop windows decorated with way too many hearts, teddy bears, pink and red stuff), February 14th is Valentine's day!
I think this would be a good opportunity for my "New Year Valentine's Day, New Underwear" feature, right? Well, yes, but I ran into a small technical problem. By that I mean checking out the online underwear shops and finding way too many pieces that I wouldn't mind buying for myself. So, I decided to have a look around for swimwear instead. After all, the Summer is coming (after the snow melts and the flowers blossom)! Seriously though, I have recently started going swimming and have been thinking about getting a new pair of swimming trunks.
When it comes to buying underwear online I usually visit (in order) the following websites:
From the huge selection of products featured on Figleaves I selected only one! There were lots I liked (incl. the classic speedos) but as I can't see myself wearing them, I decided against featuring them here.
Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, let me introduce you to D&G Hawaii Swim Long shorts . I absolutely love these! I believe they make the PERFECT Valentine's gift ... to me! Especially considering that the SALE price for these is £108, the only way for me to get hold of this is for someone else to get them for me :-D Any volunteers? ;-)
Next on my online shopping itinerary was UnderU.com but as the range of options was rather limited (i.e. 10 swimwear products) I wasn't able to find anything worthwhile. Next!
Ginch Gonch! No, no swimwear! Next!
As expected, I was able to find a few items I liked on aussiebum.com and once again I only chose the ones I would wear. There's lots of stuff that I like the look of but I don't think they would suit me. So, as they say "If you doubt yourself, wear something else", I guess I doubt myself. Technically, the reason for this is not because of my body. It's not even the size of my "manwang" (word courtesy of Dirk Mancuso). It's just that I would feel very vulnerable if I ever wore a tiny teeny bathing suit in public.
Anyway, here's a couple of pieces I would happily wear:
First, the FUNK Groovy, priced at £17.94. I really like this one. The back is tight but there's room to breathe in the front.

My second choice isn't really a very good choice for swimming but would look great when hanging out at the beach. The Boardies airlie could be yours (or mine! hint!) for £21.53 + p&p.
What are you getting your loved one for V-day?

When it comes to buying underwear online I usually visit (in order) the following websites:
- Figleaves - Because, even though the website is mainly aimed at women, there is a very good selection of men's underwear and lots of sales/offers, etc. (They tell me one can find voucher codes for this site just by using Google ;-) ).
- UnderU.com - Men's underwear (and accessories) only. Lots of designer brands (incl. Ginch Gonch, see below) but the delivery is quite slow, in my experience, even though items are dispatched from the UK. Again, one can use Google to find discount vouchers for this site. Prices can sometimes be quite favourable compared to Figleaves. It's worth checking both.
- Ginch Gonch - Cheeky underwear. Good quality but expensive. Items purchased from this site are dispatched from Canada. There are UK retailers selling them but at a premium and the available selection isn't usually as good as that on the official website. New styles aren't introduced very often, unfortunately.
- aussieBum -An Australian company (just in case you couldn't tell from the name) selling very sexy, IMHO, underwear and swimwear. I visit this website last because I know that I will always find something I like.
